Small Groups are great for many reasons - bible study, connection, support, encouragement, the list goes on. But when you find yourself frustrated in your current place of employment and the direction and decisions of the company, the group empathizes and does their best to help.
That's how KeenAdventures happened. Bethany was frustrated for some time and felt over-worked and under-appreciated and while discussing this with her Small Group they took the initiative to help her develop a plan that suited her better. Someone more specifically stated, "Ok, we need to come up with something to get you out of there!"
Within the next hour, the group of ladies had the idea to take Bethany's passion for the outdoors, her excitement to instill that passion in others, and thought of a creative way to get started in the city of Chattanooga - after school enrichment.
Over the next few months Bethany begin an outline of business plans and initiatives, goals, hopes, curriculum, activities, designs, and a domain. Researching about small businesses, working in schools, the county school rules and regulations for programs followed right behind.
With the further encouragement and support from her husband, Patrick, Bethany was able to take the leap, quit her job and pursue KeenAdventures fully. The decision came with many sacrifices but together they have continued to pursue her passion and though slow, their hard work and dedication is revealing beautiful fruit.
